When the breath is all out (Up), and stopped of itself. Or all in (Down) and stopped, in that universal pause, one’s small self vanishes. This is difficult only for the impure.
Kumbhitā recitā vāpi pūrita vā yadā bhavet |
Tadante sāntanāmāsau śaktyā śantaḥ prakāśate ||
Retention of breath, or the extension of gap between breaths. The fullness in breath, aware at the heart or at the conscious upon the third eye in awareness the end of the breath, that implausible pause.
There the inner godhead, the inner light. The peace beyond repose. The śantaẖ in the quantum of brightening vibration. The bridge of the breath.
