The rigid formal unquestionable authority whose very word is gospel. But given the nature of our conditioning and the state of the world, naturally that comes across as an ironic enough concept. Thus, ‘the right thing to do.’
In its deepest meaning, grand hierophant represents discipline, and the greater duties who learn directly from the source of authority around us of all things. In fact, the card reads closer to the 5th house of astrology, and our representation of discipline, learning and eventually deeper faith.
There is a lot of faith indicated in this sign, albeit hidden behind the veil of dogmas that make up our worlds.
Seeking answers of a philosophical kind and a link between spiritual and material values, an advisor. Here as a sign, we have responsibility, faith, idealism, knowledge and an individual vision of the spirit, which guides us as we leave childhood behind and venture out into life’s challenges.
The Grand Heirophant is a teacher, a “maker of bridges” who represents a wounded part of ourselves and therefore he is open to the worlds’ pain and longing at large.
The reverse of Hierophant represents the urge to fight against the establishment. There is a need within yourself to question the structures set up around you and to seek out new and different ways to break past the rigidity of life.
This card warns against accepting the conventional as the norm. It suggests exploring a second option or an alternative route before reaching a decision.
Aspects of the Hierophant may be intolerance of the beliefs of others, or blindly accepting other’s ideas, only to your own detriment. It can also suggest you may be rebelling for the sake of it, rejecting the traditional or conventional but not replacing it with anything meaningful, or developing our own original ideas.

Knock knock knocking to adore.
I’d wrap a rhyme into a song obscured.
Singing vision, crooning ever-glow.
Like a breath of fresh air, ascending the shared tapestry of inner-most cores and care.
Intimacy the journey in repair. Words for paradigm mentioned to dimensional fare.
Fair and farther still. Adorable is ringing, outstanding still I await.
If I translated the falling of rain, the patter would still just be beats to a letter, affection in remain and again in the latter.
The simple resamples into a mystery until the complex begins to unravel.
To avail and travail, a surge emerges travelled within.
Profound in itself, a beacon in the light of another.
To drop the word, and pick up the spotlight.
A door creaks only momentarily keyed to groove.
To delight in your sunshine.
An evening to aid the odd ode in serenade.
Good evenings’ to remember, the dawn in the yawn, to dance instead.
The golden light in your magic hours in glimpse.
And since.
